Residential Permit (RP) Renewal / Extension

Extend your stay before your RP or visa expires and stay fully compliant.

A Residential Permit is issued co-terminus with your visa or for one year at a time, whichever is earlier. If your stay in India continues beyond that period, you must apply for an extension of stay on the e-FRRO portal before the current permit expires.

Extensions are category-specific: Employment visa extensions require proof of continued employment and tax compliance, Student visa extensions need a bonafide certificate, and Medical visa extensions require a treating-hospital letter. We prepare the right set for your category, file well before the deadline and follow up until the new RP is issued.

Who needs this service?

Foreign nationals whose Residential Permit or visa validity is about to expire but who intend to continue working, studying or receiving treatment in India. Apply at least 30–60 days before expiry.
